“I’ve been driving up here every day (to work on a nearby project) and, I can’t believe how quickly this house in the woods is going up.One week there was a foundation and the next week there is a house!” (G.E. local contractor)
Most people who have built a home comment that there are “the fast parts” and there are “the slow parts.”
When you purchase your house in a kit; because the wall panels are complete and the rafters, joists and sheathing are in pre-cut peices , this part of the process proceeds really fast.
Some of the advantages of speed at this stage are;
- Building materials get under cover and out of the weather.
- Less expense of wages. You’re paying for weeks of wages rather than months of wages.
- Protected indoor space to work and store next stage materials in is created.
- If you are financing the project with a Construction Loan mortgage, you are eligible for the “lock-up” draw sooner.
- The impact on the environment is for a shorter time; less traffic, less noise, less trips. less fuel.
- It’s incredibly satisfying to see your project come into reality, it gives you energy!

Yes, we’re talking weeks!
